Sloppy Joe's

Sloppy Joe's are just as delicious as they are messy!

Here's what you'll need:

The Process

Start by finely dicing 3/4 cup white onion, 3/4 cup of green and red bell pepper, and 1 jalapeño with the seeds removed. (Feel free to leave them in if you want it really spicy.) Also, finely mince 1-2 cloves of garlic. (1 clove if big, 2 cloves if small.)

In a large skillet on medium heat, brown 1 lb of ground beef and drain the fat, but reserve a tablespoon to cook the vegetables. Add the diced onions, bell peppers, garlic, and jalapeño to the ground beef. Also, add 1 tablespoon of Southern HOTspitality or Southern Hospitality BBQ Seasoning and 2 teaspoons of Southern Bell BBQ Seasoning. Cook for 5 minutes until the vegetables start to become tender.

Next, add one 6 ounce can of tomato paste, 2 tablespoons of brown sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons of yellow mustard, 1 teaspoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1 1/2 cups of water to the beef. Reduce the heat to low and let the Sloppy Joe mixture reduce for about 10 minutes until it thickens.

Slap a large spoonful in between two buns, top with your choice of pickles, onions, or mustard, and enjoy!
